This place is good to come alone, reason being there is always a BIG crowd. Music is good and food is decent. The service was pretty good considering the place was PACKED, and I could see the servers running like chicken's w/ their heads cut off! Still I got service and I didn't wait long.... You can tell it's all locals and regular bar flies that come in. Still, great place to grab late dinner after work and chill.

I love this pub, complete with skating rink and zamboni. The bartenders are awesome and the food is great!!

Food was good, drinks and waitress were nice but the amount of kids running around is awful. At least 8 kids dancing on the stage at 11pm, not fun. I used to come here for karaoke on Thursdays and I don't think I'll return.

My friend spilled a beer and we were asked to leave. He wasn't even drunk, he just talks a lot. They thought he looked young he is of age even with his proof of age we were asked to leave. Other than that the food and drinks are good. Service is a little slow.

We just started eating here a few weeks ago and been back several times. The food has been excellent and the Servers have been very helpful and professional. Really can't ask for more in a local Restaurant. And we get to watch an Ice Hockey game while we eat. Does not get much better in a local eatery.

We came here because Bokamper's was sooo ridiculously packed for the USA game. This place was pretty much empty and the service still sucks! I guess that's why this place was empty. Been waiting for a while for the server to come back and take a food order and another drink order. Needless to say the tip will be the minimum and I won't be back nor ever recommend this place.

St. Patrick's Day Party Six dollars for a small plastic cup draft! . The place was big time, crowded, and waiter was good. Three small pieces of fish(cod) for fish fingers. No value for your $.

Visited on A Saturday night recently and actually enjoyed it. The drinks were right on the mark, they had live music and the grilled cheese w/ tomato and bacon was good. It's a different atmosphere at night than during the day. I still wouldn't think of going here for dinner but a fun place to hang out.

This place isn't my favorite but it's not all bad. Their clam chowder is the deal & their patty melt is delicious. It's pretty cool watching the hockey players scrimmage next door. Every time I come here I always experience slow service which is annoying. The food is good, not great. I always wind up getting their burger, it's my favorite item because it's always delicious. The patty melt is the best I've had. I come here because it's a pretty cool atmosphere & enjoy watching games on their big screen TVs. If you come here, don't expect high quality service but the atmosphere and clam chowder totally makes up for it. Enjoy!

I always have an enjoyable experience when I come here. The bartenders are great, the drink prices are reasonable and the food is good. I haven't had anything that I didn't like and there is a great variety. They also have the option of taking your drinks outside out front to the tables which is always a great option. I like to enjoy the beautiful florida weather. It's a great local bar to come out to watch a game or just enjoy a drink late at night. If you haven't been here before, it's definitely worth checking out.

Is it possible to give certain people a 5 star and the rest of the restaurant a 0. I was just there at the bar it took 45 minutes to get a burger and fries. 45 minutes! I'm sorry if it takes that long you should not be serving food. They offered a beer so I gladly accepted... but 45 minutes! It would have been nice if the bartender had the personality or the personality of Amber. I give her a 5 when she has been the bartender. It amazes me how poor the bartenders treat new people and the difference is what creates a return customer. I have lived in Pembroke Pines in Pembroke Falls for over 20 years and I can not recommend this place due to service. Food is ok for the area but service SUCKS with the exception of a few people. There are now too many options but management does not seem to care. Oh well...I don' t seem to care and will not ever recommend this place to the hundreds of people my company puts up in the Hampton Inn per year down the road.

Love this place!!! My girlfriend and I had our first date here over four years ago. Excellent beer selection. They have PBR which is a rare find in South Florida. There's a ice hockey arena right next door that shares a wall with the restaurant so you can watch people fall while you eat. Watch out for scary carnies when the fair comes to town.

Great atmosphere, good beer (my favorite labatt blue) and one of the few places in south Florida that I know has an electric dart board, haha. The wings are delicious and the staff is friendly but understaffed it seems at times.

  • Corina B.

This place is wack! LOL Best for locals who just wanna get out with friends for drinks. Word of advice: do not go out of your way to come here. But if you do go, order wings only (best thing on menu), order beer only (no mixed drinks), come at about 11:00 on Friday when the live band is playing. Don't think I'll ever go back, but if I do, now I know what to expect.

  • Jaime U.

Its 3 stars just because the beer was cold and the wings were good. The waitress was nice but service was slooow. The food seemed a bit over priced. I thought I would have enjoyed it more than I did.

  • Michael S.

Eh. This place is okay. The food isn't bad but it can get pricey. I had wings, which were pretty good. I plus is that they have a lot of beers on tap and a negative is that pints are expensive. Thursdays, the place is packed, thanks to lady's night. The people that go here are very "interesting". A friend and me ordered three pints and two shots and the bill came out to 50,00 plus tip. Don't expect the world from this place, you'll be disappointed.

Everything else in the area was closed, so I was surprised to see this place still open. The drinks are nothing special, but the service is horrible. It took forever for the waitress to even acknowledge me, let alone help me, and there weren't even that many people at the bar. When she finally did decide to help me, she was totally unpleasant and looked like she hated the place. Some of the people in there were a bit sketch, but I think I'd try it again... maybe I just went on an off-night.

JP Mulligans is a popular bar for locals in Pembroke Pines. It has many regulars and i want to say almost a cult following. The main bartender that has been there for years Bobby does a great job remembering people and what they usually have and is always on point. This is a place I would go for that wind down drink after work until recently that I tried their grilled wings which were a touch of heaven. They have many custom sauces and I keep coming back to try them all, until right now my favorite is the Caribbean sauce the perfect balance of sweet and spicy. The blackened dolphin sandwich was also very good for people just around 10$. They have a pool table, and a basketball machine on the back for bar games. They have a jukebox that you can put music on through WiFi and when that's not on they have various 90's cover bands for your entertainment. They have seating in the front for people that want to take their drinks or food there and have a smoke. Inside the restaurant there is a clear glass adjacent to a hockey rink giving it a unique feel as a hockey insider. For those in the biz people there is a late night happy hour which includes $2 domestic draft beers; $3 well drinks; $4 wines; $6 Bud pitchers, Bud Light pitchers; $7 pitchers of Miller Lite. This bar is unique and after a few times you will be part of the JP's family.

If I could give less stars I would. This place is subpar with a below average greasy food menu. Wait staff is ok at best. If you need a refill better not hold your breath. They walk right by empty glasses to go socialize near the bar. Don't order the chili you will spend the rest of the night in the bathroom. And clientele, well let's say is less than desirable. Wife beaters and flip flops seem to be the dress code. Since my previous review was removed I shall repost it now: After dinner tonight a psychopath in a big black truck tried to attack me while I was with my small child in the car. He raced his big black truck up and put it in park blocking me from leaving. This place is becoming more and more dangerous every time I go there. After nearly being attacked by this psychopath I will never go there again. Too dangerous for a mother and child. Not a family friendly place.

This place is pretty close from where I live, so we just gave it a try. Pitcher beer is ok in quality, price and great variety. It is always fun to watch people skating but this afternoon there was a kid game going on , fun also. Waiters are nice, but I have had more attentive ones at other bars. We may come back but not so sure about it. Didn't try the food so can't comment on that, but from what I could see it looked like very tasty and big portions

Your typical sports bar except it's connected to an ice rink where you can watch through the glass. There's a ton of TVs with sports on, a bar, stage for live music and a small arcade for the kids with a pool table. Food was good, beer was cold and the kids had fun. Also has a few tables on the front porch. My chicken club was better than I expected and the burger my husband ate was excellent.

It can be slim pickin's to find somewhere to go after 2:00am - especially if what you are looking for is a laid back place to chat with friends and grab a beer. Enter JP Mulligans. It doesn't really have much of an ambiance, but they do have some selection on tap. Last time I went they had Shock Top Raspberry Wheat, which is a favorite. The crowd is unpretentious and chill - nobody's talking to loud or being rowdy. If you like the company you are with and actually want to be able to have a conversation but everywhere is closed, come here. The kitchen closes earlier than the bar. I wouldn't ice skate if you paid me, so I can't speak to any of that. Supposedly they have karaoke here, so I'll have to check it out and report back!

Above average bar with food and a view of the "coolest" spot in town (Pines Ice Arena). Never had a bad meal. The Shepard pie is good, the blue cheese burger is excellent, the shrimp poboy is amazing and the kids grilled shrimp stick is great at $3.99! The wings are also excellent. I give the wait staff an "ok" rating, as it seems as none of them have tried the food and they cannot tell you what is good. Luckily everything is good. If you substitute the fries with veggies you will be amazed at the quantity and quality of the veggies given. The veggies are amazing and we'll seasoned. The atmosphere is of a typical local watering hole. The bathrooms are very clean and nice.

One of my favorite spots in Pembroke Pines. Where else can you drink beer, and watch hockey for lunch? It's an Irish bar, located in PP, adjacent to the Pines Ice Arena. They have a viewing glass that runs the whole side of the restaurant. I come here at least once a month for a long lunch. The food is good, for a bar, and they have recently added a new extended menu with lunch specials. I recommend the dolphin sandwich, or the Ruben, but you can never go wrong with the wings. They have a vast beer selection, and the service is good during the day. I heard they have ladies nights, karaoke, and live bands at night, but have never been. All in all, I really like this place, and recommend it...where else can you drink a beer and watch hockey during lunch?

  • Nighthawk H.

I love this place because the drinks are cheap and the food is tasty. A great place to go to hang out. Another thing I like is that you can watch the hockey players while you hang out. The only thing I don't like about this place is that the live band annoys me after a while, but it never stops me from going here.

I've been here twice, the first time I really liked it, I got two Chicago hot dogs, and yes they were every bit as good as those in Chicago. The bar service was two for one beers and wine, so that lessens the cost. However, on the return I asked for hot chicken wings and got wimpy chicken wings, looking at the menu, there there was something Wal-Marttrian about it, it was bland and boring. The food is average, and could be so much more. I haven't been here at night and never heard the band, but, my feeling is it better rock!

Rereading my review from just over a year ago, I am shocked to think that there was a time I didn't love JP's. And a time I only went once a week. This is my go-to place for weeknight drinking, although I do find it can be a little slow on Friday nights sometimes. The people who come here are awesome, and don't be surprised to see a game of beer pong in progress. The DJ on Wednesdays and Thursdays plays great music, and Thursday ladies night now has $1 drinks for the women-folk instead of having it completely free. You can also do karaoke some nights, and even win a bar tab if you win the competition. Pitchers of Miller are always $7, and all other beers are also reasonably priced. The bartenders don't suck nearly as bad as they did in early 2011 when I last reviewed this place, but it can get pretty busy here some nights. As far as food, there's nothing here I've tried that I didn't like. However, if you order the loaded fries with a "s***-ton of cheese" because drunk-you thinks that's a good idea, they really will put a LOT of cheese on them --- proceed at your own risk. The mac & cheese wedges are yummy too and something you won't find everywhere. Whether it's for food or drinks, I highly recommend JP's.

Over the past six months this place seems to be spiraling downward. Service is mediocre at best. The place is filthy. If not for the location and Ice rink I would never go there. The food is not good enough to make up for the poor overall dinning experience. David T's review is right on the mark. I expect to see this place on the TV show "Bar Rescue" soon.

  • Carolyn P.

I come here once every two months or so, usually on a weeknight when I don't feel like cooking. It is always freezing inside. Always. Freezing. I know the laws of physics require the ice rink to be cold, but I sit far away from the windows and am still so cold that I have to wear many layers and end up huddled over my food. The service is always slow, and you can stand next to the host stand waiting to be seated until you die before someone notices you, so if you're in a hurry, go elsewhere. The food is pretty good (I get the buffalo chicken wrap which is assembled, then grilled to kind of seal it together. Very nice). They usually have some kind of beer special which my husband likes. It's pub food, it's not going to blow your mind, but it won't break the bank either.

Bartender should be more aware of the daily drink specials. We were overcharged on our drinks. The specials are clearly written on the window ourside.

Been coming to JP Mulligans for a few years now. What can I say, it's not the best and it's not the worst but it's cozy and right around the corner from my house. Food is usually pretty decent, some items are better than others and I do like their wraps (and their fries are pretty good too) I love sitting next to the glass in the back and watching the local hockey teams tear up the ice, so that is always entertaining. Beers are actually pretty good and they have a decent tap and by the bottle selection. Happy Hour drink specials are great too and if you go late there is always something going on. The reason for 3 stars isn't because there is anything wrong with it, it's just a neighborhood bar and that's about it. It's never done me wrong and I'll continue going because they're open late, the food isn't half bad, and they have good reasonably priced drinks. If you're in the neighborhood and want a late night snack or a decent beer. JPs won't steer you wrong.

The food here is just average. I ordered the steak quesadillas. They could've used a bit more seasoning or something. The people at my table ordered onion soup, chicken wings, calamari, mini burgers, and fries. Everyone would pretty much like "ehh I've tasted better" when they bit into their foods. The atmosphere at the place is pretty cool though. Half of the restaurant is a long glass window that allows you to watch a live hockey match. It's pretty entertaining to be sitting right next to the glass when a hockey player gets smashed right into it. It makes you feel like you're part of the match! I mean you kind of almost are.

  • Tati A.

Tried this place based on the reviews. Wasn't the best bar I've been to but the quesadillas were okay and the calamari was alright. Atmosphere was DRY! Bartenders weren't really interactive. First and the last time coming here.

AKA "the.Rink", appropriately enough. Place has an entire side with an open view of an ice rink. Always a good time. Love the wings. Have yet to try anything that I did not enjoy. Ingredients are fresh, food is well prepared. Nice beer selection. Tons of TVs. A little loud & a bit chilly but dress appropriately and yell - all is good. What a kick eating wings, drinking a cold two or three and watching hockey up close & personally.

It was late and we were wanting to get some food and a beer. We came here at about 11pm on a weeknight and this place was hoppin'. We had never been here before, but we are always open into trying new places right? There was a young crowd hanging out at the bar. These kids looked like they were in high school, so it didn't seem like the staff was interested in checking people's ID's there. We ignored all the childish hubbub and sat ourselves down at a table next to the ice rink. We ordered our drinks stared through the menu. They had a pretty good selection of sandwiches, burgers and Irish items as well. I didn't want to eat something completely huge so late at night so I ordered a BLT. Can't go wrong with that. The waitress came back with our beers and we were happily surprised to find she gave us 2 cups of beer each. 2 for 1, woohoo. I got my BLT on wheat with a side of coleslaw and a pickle. Not bad for $6.00. I couldn't complain about my food. I was starving so I was happy to scarf it down. The server was sweet and was pretty good at keeping on top of our table. The food didn't take too long which was nice. 2 for 1 beers was great. The place was okay, nothing special. Don't think I'll be coming back too often here. Maybe for those late snacky weeknights, but that's about it.

We arrived in a small group late at night since we wanted some beers to go along with some food. We sat down close to the glass overlooking the ice and were waited on quickly. The waitress was friendly and took our drink orders. This bar is a come-as-you-are kinda joint. No frills whatsoever, which was perfectly fine by me. When the drinks arrived, she had 2 beers for each person. As soon as we all looked at her with perplexion, she explained that draft beers were 2 for 1. Score! The food was ordered and we chatted while watching sports on flat screens. It was cool watching people play hockey while at a bar. The scene was pretty lively and the place was pretty full considering it was a weeknight. I split a BLT that was very dry and it tasted like they forgot the lettuce. The cole slaw was pretty good and I thought the bacon was way to crispy and almost burnt. I was in the mood for dessert and asked what they carried. The waitress said she thought they didn't have any more desserts for the night. Bent on satisfying my sweet tooth, I told her if she found an old slice of key lime pie back there I'd take it. The waitress came back with a round key lime pie that had been in the cooler way too long. Not caring, I devoured it. I joked with the waitress about how stale the pie was and she apologized. 2 Yuenglings on tap set me back 3.50. Yeah, the beer was served in plastic cups but you get what you pay for right? The waitress was attentive, smiled a lot and the beer tasted great and it was cheap. If you just want to grab a beer and hang out late at night this place is perfect.

I have been coming here for a few years now, ever since I started playing hockey at the attached ice rink. What I have to say is that this place is perfect for after game buckets of beer, nachos, wings, and TV sports. When I lived and played hockey in DC we always had to pick a place that might be open, to try to get to before last call and the kitchen closed, and at time failing. This place is always open when we finish our games. The kitchen is always ready to make food (till midnight I think). When we order beer, it comes in buckets of 5, and the waitress is good about always making sure we have what we want. Also, knowing we are coming from a game, the waitress brings us pitchers of water, and keeps replacing them rather than running about constantly trying to refill our individual glasses. I know this saves her work, but we appreciate it to no end. The food is good, standard, bar food. Nothing great, but something to look forward to at 10 at night. Even if you are not coming from a hockey game, which you can watch through the windows at the bar that look directly onto the rink, I would make this a neighborhood hangout because of how comfortable the atmosphere is, and how reasonable the beer prices are.

If I ever go back and eat something there I'll update this review.... But the place wasn't bad and it's attached to an ice skating rink! I had a couple of beers and played some pool pretty standard bar activity, the place wasn't too loud which allowed for good conversation... I like it, pretty laid back and not pretentious like many of its Dade County counterparts...

Decent bar food but the grilled wings are pretty good. Tap selection is pretty good. Nice alternative to packed bokampers or bru's room.
